Legacies Click here for further details. This is a very popular way of helping others when you have gone. By leaving a gift to the parish in your will, you will help make an important long-term contribution to the work of the Church. Free of inheritance tax. Just instruct your solicitor or will writer, that you would like to leave a legacy to the parish. The above methods of giving enables The Parish of St Clement’s to offer faith support and a community for people to be a part of but as with any other Church community there are many fixed costs to run the church, Lighting, Heating, Water, Rates, Organ maintenance, Stationary, office administration, Housekeeping and property maintenance. Many volunteers in the parish offer their time and resources which assists in reducing these costs but despite this support the Church also has to rely on Gift Aid and fund raising events. (A common misconception being that Catholic Churches are financially supported by ‘Head Office’ eg The Diocese and Rome). Thank you for taking the time to consider Gift Aid and we welcome your thoughts, feedback and support! Diocese of Arundel and Brighton Privacy and Data Protection Policy

  • COVID-19 | St. Clements Ewell

Church Re-Opening Dear Parishioners, The obligation for Sunday Mass attendance remains in abeyance for the time being which means you can attend Mass on any day. Unfortunately, this does not mean that we are back to where we were before the lock down. The guidance that we have been instructed to put in place for the opening of the church for private prayer will apply even more for those attending Mass, and from the weekend of the 12 September we will be putting in place a track and trace system. The guidelines for attending Mass are as follows: Enter through the main doors. Use the hand sanitiser. Post your completed Test and Trace slip in the box. Follow the stewards' guidance at Communion. There is a one-way system in operation. Please exit the church through the side door left of the altar. Sanitise your hands again The doors will remain open to allow a free flow of air and reduce the risk of people touching the door handles. Please do not go on or behind the altar. Candles cannot be lit.Toilets are not available. There will be 10.00a.m. Mass each Wednesday. The Saturday Vigil Mass will be at 6.00p.m. and on Sundays, Mass will be at 10.30a.m. From the 13 September we will be reinstating the Sunday Mass at 8 30am Attendance will be on a first come basis as we will have a maximum attendance of 70 people. Stewards will be present to remind you to sanitise and show you to your seats. Track and Trace System In line with government guidance we will be assisting the NHS Test and Trace service by requiring parishioners to provide name and contact details (usually a phone number.) We can then provide the service with requests for that data if needed for contact tracing and the investigation of local outbreaks. The records will be kept for 21 days and then shredded. Everyone attending Mass should complete a NHS Test & Trace slip and post it in the box in the narthex on entering the building (slips will be provided for anyone who does not bring one with them- bring your own pen if possible!). You can download the slips here Bring a completed one every time you attend Mass. Dear Parishioners, Face Coverings You will be aware that face coverings are currently mandatory on public transport as well as in shops and in supermarkets. Following a change in government advice on the 24th July 2020 people are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings in enclosed public spaces including places of worship. You are therefore asked to wear a face covering when you come to Mass from the 8th August. Fr Graham Track and Trace Slips Coronavirus Mass Times: Wednesdays 10am Saturdays 6pm Sundays 10:30am Sunday 8:30am (to restart from 13 September) limit of 75 people per mass

  • Our Church | St. Clements Ewell

About Our Church images by Ciaran Frederick St Clement's is a well established parish of the Catholic diocese of Arundel and Brighton situated in the deanery of Epsom and Redhill Founded in 1937, as a Mass Centre of the neighbouring parish of St Matthias in the Archdiocese of Southwark, St Clements became an independent parish during 1941. Serving the Roman Catholic community, we have grown in size and outlook, opening our present building in 1962. Shortly after the new Catholic diocese of Arundel and Brighton was formed (1965) comprising the counties of Surrey, East and West Sussex. St Clements being in Surrey took its place in the new diocese. The community continued to develop and the church was extended and reordered in 2003. We belong to Churches Together in Ewell and Stoneleigh are a Fairtrade Church and support Overseas Development through CAFOD After "Vision for Mission looking to 2030" a diocesan consultation document addressing the balance between available pastors and the increased number of parishes our next challenge is the Diocesan Pastoral Plan . Launched by Bishop Richard in December 2019 it brings up to date the state of the diocese and addresses our future under the headings Prayer, Formation and Mission St Clement's Vision Statement As a parish community we aim to obey, with all our fellow Christians, the Lord's command to love our Creator and all people. Inspired by this love and through prayer and the Sacraments we aim to grow in our understanding of our Christian responsibilities in our lives. We commit ourselves, working together, to build a welcoming community in which everyone will be recognised and to which all will contribute, according to their call from God, in whatever way they are able We will strive to be sensitive and respond to the needs of all. We pray that all our liturgy will be a celebration of our witness to Jesus Christ as Lord, the Light of the World. St. Clements Primary School St Clement’s Catholic Primary School was opened in 1972 and had been set up by the Parish of St Clement, Ewell, the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton and Surrey County Council, for the education of baptised Catholics in the parish of Ewell and Stoneleigh. The school is conducted as a Catholic school in accordance with canon law, the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Trust Deed of the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton. It seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ. St. Andrews Secondary School St Andrew’s is a Roman Catholic Comprehensive School for students aged 11-18. It is a vibrant and dynamic school with high expectations and great ambitions for every one of its students. Each child is unique, they are loved and valued. They deserve the best and that is what we aim to give them. They are our greatest ambassadors and they are supported by a team of staff united in encouraging, guiding, motivating and challenging each one of them to be the best they can be.

  • Eucharistic Ministers | St. Clements Ewell

Eucharistic Ministers UPDATE To assist in maintaining a safe environment at Mass , a gradual move towards 'pre-COVID’ Masses will be implemented sensitively with the introduction of Eucharistic Ministers. Ministers will perform their duties as set out in the Guidance (see below). This will start from Sunday 1st Aug 10.30am Mass. Eucharistic Minister Rotas, provided by Tracy Silvestro, will begin for all Masses from Sat. 6th Aug 6pm / Sunday 7th Aug 8.30am & 10.30am onwards, despite the reduced attendance numbers. This helps us to prepare for when attendance can be expected to increase by September. Stewarding duties will continue, although these roles will gradually reduce as Masses return to a pre-COVID environment. Maintaining a safe environment is essential in order to both reassure and encourage parishioners to return to Masses and the St Clement's community as a whole. Masks are an important part of a safe environment and will continue to be required wearing (except for parishioners that are exempted). To address the future planning of the church Masses, another meeting for Eucharistic Ministers will take place in the near future. It is important that as many ministers as possible attend. GUIDANCE for Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist Ensure your mask is well-fitting (at Agnus Dei). Enter sanctuary by the ramp. Sanitise hands (table top of ramp). Stand near the altar (Holy Communion will be given to you). Priest will divide Hosts into ciborium vessels. Priest and Minister will go near to the church columns (but well distanced). The Congregation will continue to form in one line under the guidance of the Steward (using markers on floor – although social distancing can now be reduced, if you so wish). Stewards will still offer guidance. Communicants will return to their places by the side aisles as before. Fr Graham looks forward to welcoming back all Parishioners as and when you feel it is the right time.
